Tragedy struck in Akungba, Akoko Southwest Local Government Area of Ondo State, as housewife Omolora Oluwaemi allegedly attacked her sleeping husband, Seidu Jamiu, with a pestle, leaving him severely injured.
According to sources, a heated argument broke out between the couple the previous night, sparked by the husband’s infidelity.
The situation escalated, and witnesses, including Chief Awesu, were left stunned after Oluwakemi cried for help, revealing Jamiu lying unconscious in a bloodied state.
The dispute seemingly stemmed from suspicions of infidelity involving a side chick.
Tragically, Jamiu succumbed to his injuries despite being rushed to the hospital. Oluwakemi has since been detained by the police and transferred to the police headquarters for further investigation.
According to Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, Ondo Police spokesperson, it was Oluwaemi herself who reported the incident to the police, claiming that her husband was killed by unknown assailants.
However, no arrests have been made yet, and investigations are underway.
According to her , “I can’t confirm that the victim’s wife killed him because it was the woman that reported the matter at police station. We have not made any arrest now but investigation has commenced into the incident.”
