Afrobeats singer and filmmaker, Tiwa Savage, has disclosed how she got inspired to move into the music industry in spite of her interest in acting.
She said she became a musician because she had a crush on a “guy” who was always around musicians.
Tiwa stated this in a recent interview with MTV Live while promoting her latest movie project ‘Water and Garri’.
Tiwa Savage said, acting was her first love before music.
“I’ve always wanted to do acting. Acting was one of my first love before music. I got into music because I had a crush on a guy and he was always around the musician so I said ‘yeah, forget acting and just go into music.” She said.
Water and Garri is produced by Unbound Studios and its subsidiary JM Films and was shot in Cape Coast, Ghana.
Recall that in 2021, Tiwa released a music EP titled ‘Water and Garri’.
Tiwa wrote and performed the film’s original soundtrack and is an executive producer through her Everything Savage company.
She cast as a fashion designer with a budding career in the US and returned to her mother land in Africa to face the guilt she left behind.
Stars in the movie include Mike Afolarin, Andrew Bunting, and Jemima Osunde.
