Social media critic and influencer, VeryDarkMan, has publicly condemned the alleged assault of an Uber driver by a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh, representing Aba North & South Federal Constituency.
In a trending video circulating online, the lawmaker is seen engaging in a heated altercation with the cab driver at his residence in Maitama, Abuja. The video captures the visibly agitated Ikwechegh slapping the driver and threatening to confine him in a generator room. The incident reportedly escalated after the driver requested that the lawmaker come outside to receive his delivery personally.
The video shows Ikwechegh verbally berating the driver, threatening to “make him disappear,” which has since sparked public outrage across social media platforms.
Reacting to the incident, VeryDarkMan, in a video posted on his Instagram page, called for the Uber driver to get in touch with him, vowing to ensure justice is served. He expressed his determination to hold the lawmaker accountable for his actions.
“Please, this guy should reach out to me. This man must pay for this assault,” VeryDarkMan said.
The social media activist further questioned the lawmaker’s past actions, expressing concern over the threats made in the video. “How many people have you made to disappear? How many Nigerians have you assaulted and put in your generator room?” he asked. “You need to answer to us; we voted you in.”
