The Lagos State Police Command arrested Emeka Madu, a secondary school dropout, for illegally manufacturing fake malaria drugs in an uncompleted building in Ikotun.
Emeka and his accomplices were apprehended during a raid on the site, where the counterfeit drugs were being produced and packaged for sale to unsuspecting buyers.
According to authorities, the illegal operation posed a significant threat to public health, with the fake medications potentially endangering the lives of thousands of people. The arrest followed a tip-off from concerned residents who noticed suspicious activities at the location.
In his confession, Emeka admitted that he had learned the trade from a friend who introduced him to the practice.

The police are continuing their investigation into the operation, with efforts underway to track down other members of the syndicate involved in the production and distribution of the counterfeit medications.
