Popular TikToker Peller has fired back at critics questioning his decision to get married, asserting that common advice to delay marriage is often rooted in financial struggles.
In a now-viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Peller, who recently got engaged to his partner Jarvis, declared his readiness for marriage and dismissed age as a determining factor. The TikTok star did not hold back in addressing those advising against his choice, attributing their stance to beliefs instilled by their parents.
“Let me tell you something,” he began. “For all of you saying, ‘He’s young, he’s getting married,’ the truth is, your father and mother lied to you about waiting until a certain age to get married. The reason behind this is poverty.”
Peller further elaborated, emphasizing that financial constraints were the primary reason many parents advised their children to delay marriage. “It’s poverty, I swear to Almighty God,” he added. “They tell you to marry when you’re older, not realizing that by then, you’ll have little money. No, it’s because of poverty.”
