Former Labour Party (LP), Director-General of the 2023 presidential election campaign, Doyin Okupe, has praised President Bola Tinubu for his courageous leadership.
Okupe, in a recent interview on Channels Television’s ‘Political Paradigm’, noted that no administration in Nigeria has ever tackled the challenges that Tinubu has addressed.
He observed that for the past 20 years, leaders have been avoiding difficult decisions, but Tinubu has taken bold steps to address the country’s economic and financial crises.
Okupe likened Tinubu to Jesus Christ, who volunteered to sacrifice himself for the salvation of humanity. Similarly, Tinubu has taken on the daunting task of reforming Nigeria’s economy, despite the potential political costs.
Okupe said: “Tinubu has sent himself into this challenging situation, just like Jesus Christ volunteered to be crucified for the world. He is working to find a way out of the economic and financial disaster he inherited.”
Okupe specifically commended Tinubu for his decision to remove fuel subsidies, a move that has been widely criticized. He argued that Tinubu’s leadership and willingness to take tough decisions are essential for Nigeria’s progress.
