President Bola Tinubu has consented to implement N70,000 as the new national minimum wage.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced this decision after a meeting between government officials and organized labor representatives, revealing the outcome of their negotiations on the new minimum wage.
labour leaders, such as Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), and Festus Osifo, President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), were in attendance at the meeting, representing the interests of workers and engaging in discussions with government officials.
At approximately 2:15 pm, the labour leaders arrived at the Presidential office in a white 32-seater Coaster bus, promptly making their way to the first-floor office of the President, where they were scheduled to convene with government officials for a highly anticipated meeting.
