An Abuja Faith-Based Organization, Resurrection Praying Mothers of Nation Association, (RPMNA) has pleaded with organizers of hardship protest to shelve the planned protest in the interest of peace and development.
Rev. Dr. Lois Angula, National President of the organization who spoke to journalists in Abuja at the weekend said, it is no doubt that Nigerians are going through tough times but certainly, protest of this magnitude will not be for the interest of the nation.
According to her, there is a higher tendency for such protest snowballing into full brown violence and criminality, adding that what Nigeria needs at this trying time is prayers.
“We are calling on our fathers, uncles, husbands and our children, the youths that nothing works out well when it has to do with violence. A worse peace is better than the best violence. Let them shield the sword and avoid bloodshed.
“Look at ENDSARS protest, it started as a peaceful protest, but in the end several innocent lives were lost. Those who were killed are supposed to be our future leaders. We the mothers would not want this happen to our husbands or kids again, not to talk of something worse, this is why we are pleading,” she stated.
According to Dr. Lois, President Tinubu needs more time and patience from Nigerians considering the fact that his administration started on a difficult footing, adding that it has become necessary for Nigerians to pray for Mr. President. She pointed out that the president is already taking steps in right direction to make sure things go well, but it will not be this soon.
She said Nigeria is in a dicey situation now, and it can only take peace to bring out the best out of the fragile Nation. “In the absence of peace, there will be no development. What is required of us as a nation is intense prayers for him and all leaders at different levels of the country. This is time to believe God that things will change. We have a greater Nigeria ahead of us”.
Going scriptural, the National President reiterated that as God spoke in the book of Jeremiah chapter 29 verses 11 concerning His plans for Israel, He also has a plan concerning Nigeria too; a plan of good not of evil. And that it is time to allow God’s plan to come to fulfillment.
She stated; “as intercessors, we will continue to pray for Nigeria so that God’s plan for the country will come to pass. As a Faith-Based Organization, the RPMNA is platform for all praying mothers who want to be effective and fulfill their prayer devotion for Nigeria and the world at large. We are non-denominational or trans-denominational organization. Our major aim is to raise a generation of willing souls among women in Nigeria who submit to the Lordship of Jesus and the Leadership of the Holy Spirit, with burning desire for the gift of intercession, at the same time yielding their lives to God’s agenda or kingdom desire.
“We do not only pray, we put faith in action by organizing empowerment programmes to assist the needy in our country. We reach out to prostitutes, destitute, vulnerable and drug addicts and get them empowered, so as to bring out their God given talents in order to carry out the mandate for the great commission effectively. We are also working in collaboration with Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Inter-Denominational Fellowship, among others.
