A prominent pro-Bola Ahmed Tinubu group, The Renewed Hope Agenda- The Way Forward Group, has commended the President for sacking some ministers considered to have performed below expectations in the life of the current administration.
About seven ministers were replaced by the President on Wednesday this week.
In a statement titled “Cabinet Reshuffling: Rekindling the Renewed Hope Agenda Through Aggressive Impactful Performance”, the group said commended the President for the bold steps he has taken so far while calling on Nigeria to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration.
The statement signed by the National Assistant Publicity Secretary of the group, Frank S Nwaforbe, said the President Tinubu has repeatedly demonstrated sufficient mettle to drive the vision of his administration’s agenda in a bid to actualizing them albeit with little regards for its current adverse effects on the citizens.
“Remarkably, the beacons of hope under this administration should be those I consider as the field marshals or lieutenants, that is the ministers who form the cabinet. There’s no gainsaying the fact that the success or failure of a government is dependent upon the calibre of technocrats and personnel within the government and rightly so, President Tinubu’s decision to reshuffle his cabinet for reasons of underperformance and under-delivery is commendable as it is a wake up call for those coming in to up their games to achieve the set goals.
“Clearly, the body language of the President is that there’s no room for slacking or complacency. You have been appointed to serve the people and you must come to the table with something meaningful to offer. From his point of view, he is clearly saying gone are the days when political appointments are for mere political patronage. It is a call for service and it must be done with due diligence. It is not surprising that the likes of Nyesom Wike, FCT Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Interior Minister, Festus Keyamo, Aviation Minister, and Dave Umahi, Works Minister, were all returned having scored high marks by the performance indicator report conducted by Hadiza Bala Usman.
“This step and efforts by the President to get rid of underperforming cabinet members is clearly an indication of a government driven by goals and prepared beyond mere promises to see its manifestations. It is on this note that whoever has made it to the new cabinet, both returning and newly appointed ministers, must embrace this call to service and give of their best to save our nation from further plunging into the dungeon of endless suffering and pains.
It is the belief of the Renewed Hope Agenda- The Way Forward Group that Nigerians are just about to experience a renewed strength and passion in public service as all efforts shall be geared towards restoring confidence and the hopes of Nigerians in the Tinubu’s led administration whose primary goal is to improve the living conditions of Nigerians.”
