Reverend Arowolo Kolade Edward Idowu, who passed away on December 8, 2024, at the age of 39, was a remarkable individual whose life was a testament to his unwavering faith, compassion and generosity.
To those who knew him, Reverend Arowolo was a hardworking man who consistently delivered on his commitments with perfection. His diligence and dedication to his work were inspiring, and his commitment to excellence was evident in everything he did.
Reverend Arowolo’s impact went far beyond his professional accomplishments. He was a cheerful giver who prioritized the needs of those around him. His generosity was legendary, and his door was always open to those in need. Whether it was offering a listening ear, a comforting word or a helping hand, Reverend Arowolo was always there for others.
Reverend Arowolo’s faith was the foundation of his life, and he died as a true Christian who always sought after God. His love for the Lord was evident in everything he did, and his commitment to his faith inspired countless others to deepen their own relationship with God.
Despite his many accomplishments and qualities, Reverend Arowolo remained humble and unassuming. He never sought to draw attention to himself, preferring instead to focus on serving others and glorifying God.
Though Reverend Arowolo’s physical life was cut short, we believe he has accomplished all God’s promises. His life was a testament to the power of faith, compassion and service. His legacy will continue to inspire us to live lives of purpose, dedication and love.
While preaching at the Cathedral Church of St Paul, Iyara, during the burial service, Reverend Arowolo’s senior colleague, Venerable Kolade Peter, said “Reverend Arowolo was a shining example of what it means to live a life of faith, compassion and service,” he said. “His humility, kindness and generosity inspired us all to be better versions of ourselves. Though he may be gone, his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.”
In recognition of his exemplary life and service, Reverend Arowolo was laid to rest at the cathedral of Ijumu Anglican Diocese, a privilege that cannot be bought with money. This honor is a testament to the high esteem in which he was held by the church and the community.
Reverend Arowolo is survived by his loving mother, wife, siblings and daughter, Ifemimo. Though his passing leaves a gaping hole in our lives, we take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.
Rest in peace, dear brother. Your life may have been brief, but its impact will be felt for generations to come.
