My attention has been drawn to the recent statements made by the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, regarding the Bauchi State Governor, His Excellency Bala Mohammed.
The outburst by Dogara is trite, unfortunate, filled with inaccuracies, personal attacks and vendettas, which are being used to mislead the public and distort the true state of affairs in Bauchi State.
Firstly, it is essential to remind the public that Governor Bala Mohammed is a leader who has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the development and progress of Bauchi State. His Excellency’s track record speaks for itself, from the numerous infrastructure projects to the significant strides made in education, healthcare, and social welfare. Bauchi State, under his leadership, has witnessed unprecedented development, and the citizens of the state can attest to this fact.
Contrary to the claims made by Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Governor Bala Mohammed has not, at any point, sought to undermine the administration of President Bola Tinubu. The Governor’s remarks on the current economic situation were made in the spirit of constructive criticism, a fundamental aspect of democratic governance. As a governor who genuinely cares for the welfare of his people, it is only natural that he expresses concern over the challenges facing the nation, particularly as they affect the citizens of Bauchi State.
It is also worth noting that Governor Bala Mohammed’s leadership has been a beacon of hope for the people of Bauchi State. His administration has prioritized the improvement of social amenities, the provision of quality education, and the enhancement of healthcare services. The Governor’s commitment to these sectors is evident in the numerous projects that have been completed and those that are ongoing. To suggest otherwise is not only disingenuous but also a gross misrepresentation of the facts.
The accusation that Governor Bala Mohammed “rigged” his way back into office is not only baseless but also a desperate attempt to tarnish his reputation. The people of Bauchi State re-elected him because they have faith in his leadership and appreciate the tangible progress he has brought to the state. The insinuation that Governor Mohammed required intervention from President Bola Tinubu to secure his position is a figment of the imagination of those who wish to rewrite history to suit their narrative.
Furthermore, the claim that Bauchi State is in a state of “destitution and squalor” under Governor Bala Mohammed’s watch is far from the truth. On the contrary, the state has experienced significant economic growth, and the living standards of the people have improved markedly. The Governor’s focus on infrastructural development, agricultural revitalization, and youth empowerment has created opportunities for the people of Bauchi State and has set the state on a path to sustainable development.
In conclusion, it is important for failed politicians like Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara who are trying to launch themselves back into the limelight after putting themselves in the Dundrum by their inept political miscalculations to base their criticisms on facts rather than resorting to unfounded allegations and personal attacks. Governor Bala Mohammed remains committed to serving the people of Bauchi State with integrity, transparency, and dedication. His achievements are visible for all to see, and no amount of falsehoods can diminish the positive impact of his administration.
The former Speaker’s assertion that Governor Bala Mohammed lobbied President Bola Tinubu to assist him in the tribunal is an indictment of the President which suggests that he interferes in the court process.
Dogara is a drowning politician who is desperately seeking relevance as such will do anything to assuage President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The truth is that Dogara is a dazed and confused politician who has lost relevance and eagerly seeking relevance.
It is a known fact that he lost the election in his local government, at the state level and at the national level all owing to his miscalculations and he is now looking for a solace.
Rather than engage the hardworking governor of Bauchi State in a misplaced
the political altercation, he shouldn’t dissipate his energy anymore but take the part of Daniel Bwala who clearly knew made a mistake and has since returned to President Tinubu.
Dogara should follow the path of Mr Bwala without dragging the name of anybody into the mud.
Signed:
Nasiru Hanga
