The Nigeria Police Force has intensified its investigation into the tragic death of Priscilla Ocheme, who went missing after visiting her boyfriend, Ekhousuehi Elvis, at his residence in Goshen Estate, Pyakasa, FCT, on September 22, 2024. Priscilla’s lifeless body was later discovered, prompting public outcry and raising critical questions about the circumstances surrounding her demise.
Following initial investigations, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) to take over the case to ensure a thorough and impartial inquiry. This directive aims to prevent overlapping investigations after Elvis, identified as a primary suspect, filed a counter-petition in Lagos State instead of complying with a summons to provide his account in Abuja.
The SIU, equipped to handle complex cases, has taken custody of Elvis and other suspects linked to the case. Police authorities clarified that no suspect, including Elvis, has been subjected to mistreatment, debunking rumors circulating on social media.
In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police assured the public of their unwavering commitment to transparency and justice in the matter. “The Nigeria Police Force reassures the public of its commitment to uncovering the truth. Members of the public with relevant information are encouraged to come forward and assist with the investigation,” the statement read.
