The lawmaker representing Ibadan South East/North East federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has stated that People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), will relegate the All progressive congress (APC) in 2027.
The lawmaker stressed that Nigerians still love PDP, and are ready to support the party to take over reins of power at the federal level come 2027.
He stated this over the weekend while interacting with some journalists in Ibadan, adding that Nigerians can no longer tolerate the misrule of the ruling party, APC, beyond 2027 when the next general elections would hold.
Agboworin speaking further, stated that with the unbearable pain and untold hardship inflicted on Nigerians by the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the people would not hesitate to massively support the PDP, saying that “the APC has shown to the people that it is directionless since 2015.”
While noting that, from all indications, the APC has failed Nigerians as a result of its wrong policies, which have done more harm than good to the masses, Agboworin maintained that Nigerians can no longer wait to come out en masse to support the PDP candidates to win elections at all levels of government.
The two-term lawmaker equally used the opportunity to reiterate the recent statement of Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, who had said the 2027 general election would be a direct contest between the APC and the people of Nigeria.
He said: “I believe that Nigerians still love our party. As things stand, they are in love with the PDP because the ruling party has failed all of us. The things we expected are not what we are currently witnessing.
“The people are hungry. There is anger in the land, which is very visible and the people can no longer wait to reject APC in 2027 and do the needful.
“Recall that my Principal, the Governor of Oyo State recently stated that the next general election would be a contest between the Nigerians and the APC. That is just the truth because the people are ready to react and make sure the ruling party is voted out of power.”
He, however, called on the PDP stakeholders at all levels to work towards uniting different interests within the party ahead of the future elections, so as to wrestle power from president Tinubu and the APC in 2027.
