Action Alliance (AA) Party, has cautioned members of the public against impostors parading themselves as its officials, trying to destabilise the party.
Mr James Vernimbe, AA National Secretary, gave the advice on Thursday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
Vernimbe said that the advice became necessary ahead of the forthcoming Ondo and Edo States Governorship elections.
The also advised the party members in both states to pay no attention to impostors trying to distract and disrupt the peace and unity of the party at the states and national level.
“The attention of Action Alliance (AA) National Headquarters, Abuja has been drawn that one unknown person to the party is impersonating the office of the National Youth Leader.
“The office of the national youth leader of Action Alliance is currently occupied by the authentic leader in person of Bonaventure Akadube.
“We disclaim the self-acclaimed national youth leader and urged the general public, especially the National Leadership Forum of National Youth Leaders of All Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN) to only recognise Bonaventure Akadube,” he said.
Vernimbe said that the impostors were only trying to cause confusion in the party ahead of the forthcoming off-cycle elections, which called for concerns.
He urged the public to verify the authenticity of the leaders of the party from the official website of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to avoid dealing with impostors.
The party official called for peace in the party and urged members to remain united and focused towards achieving victory in the coming off-cycle elections.
