Senator Ned Nwoko has come to the defense of his wife, actress Regina Daniels, after she faced criticism for her comments on the nationwide protests.
Regina had called for peace while condemning violence during the protests, but her message was met with backlash from those who accused her of being out of touch due to her marriage to a billionaire politician.
Ned Nwoko praised Regina’s “wisdom and strength of character” in speaking out, stating that she was motivated by concern for her workers’ welfare, not seeking popularity.
The senator attributed Nigeria’s economic and insecurity woes to “decades of bad governance” and appealed for peaceful protests, promising to share his own solutions to the country’s problems.

Meanwhile, actress Tonto Dikeh faced similar backlash for supporting President Tinubu and advising against protests. She suggested alternative methods, such as a representative group meeting with the President, to address grievances.
