The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has revealed the completion of the 25.7-kilometre Ogbia-Nembe Road in Bayelsa State.
According to statement by Pius Ughakpoteni, the NDDC Director of Corporate Affairs, stated tha the road features seven bridges, 53 culverts, and spurs connecting 14 communities.
He said that the project which marks a important milestone in the commission’s efforts to enhance infrastructure development in the Niger Delta region, was constructed in cooperation with Shell Petroleum Development Company.
Speaking during an inspection tour of the road, the Executive Director of Projects at NDDC, Sir Victor Antai, expressed satisfaction with the project’s execution.
He highlighted the Commission’s commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects that will positively impact the lives of Niger Delta residents.
Stressing the significance of collaboration between development agencies, companies, and state governments, Antai recounted the Ogbia-Nembe Road as a testimony to the developmental prospective of cooperative efforts in the region.
However, Onuoha Obeka, the NDDC Director of Environmental Protection and Control, praised the accomplishment of the road in spite of the challenges experienced, especially the muddy terrain.
