Senator representing Bauchi Central, Abdul Ningi has opened up after he resumed plenary from a three-month suspension.
While speaking, he urged his colleagues to move on from what had transpired in the past.
Senator Ningi came along with some senators, such as Suleiman Kawu (NNPP Kano South), Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (PDP Sokoto South), among others.
He entered the National Assembly through the Villa Gate exactly at 10: 40am for the plenary which started at about 12:10 pm.
Speaking on the floor of the Red chamber, Senator Ningi told his colleagues “It’s time to move on.”
He expressed his appreciation to the Senate for recalling him from suspension after spending 75 of 90 days suspension slammed on him on March 12, 2024 at the committee of the whole,
Citing Order 42 of the Senate standing rules, Ningi said he was in Turkey when he heard of his recall from suspension.
He said: “Mr President, colleagues, I rise with profound humility to commend the Senate, its President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate leadership and the minority caucus for recalling me from suspension.”
