Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun and other prominent individuals gathered for special prayers in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Wednesday to honor Moshood Abiola.
This is as Nigeria celebrates its 25th Democracy Day on June 12.
The special prayers were held at the family house of the late Abiola in Abeokuta.
Family members, government officials, and dignitaries gathered at the Oja Agbo family house in Abeokuta North local government for a prayer session in honor of the late Moshood Abiola. The attendees included Deputy Governor Noimot Oyedele, members of the National Assembly, and other family members, who came together to pay their respects and offer prayers for the repose of Abiola’s soul.
They paid glowing tributes to the late business mogul for his selfless duties and commitment to humanity, and his eventual contributions to the newfound democratic experience in the country.
Governor Abiodun, represented by his deputy, Noimot Oyedele, praised the late Moshood Abiola, acknowledging his sacrifices for democracy and pledging that the Ogun state government would continue to uphold his ideals and virtues to promote sustainable democratic values.
Additionally, prayers were offered for the state and the nation, seeking peace, harmony, growth, and development.
