The Gombe State Network of Civil Society organised a capacity-building training for 22 representatives of various Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on writing effective project proposals.
Chairman of the network, Ibrahim Yusuf, explained that the training aimed to strengthen the capacity of CSOs in the state, enabling them to source grants from donors and development partners.
This, he said, will in turn contribute to the state’s development.
“The training is designed to make CSOs vibrant and functional in Gombe State,. We want to empower them to access funding opportunities and implement impactful projects.”, he stated.
According to him, the training also focused on resource mobilisation, emphasising the importance of diversifying funding sources.
Yusuf tasked the CSOs with enlightening communities in the state on the need to take ownership of interventions from development partners and the state government.
He stressed the importance of maintaining facilities provided to avoid abandonment and dilapidation.
“Next year, we plan to boost the capacity of communities on maintaining and taking ownership of projects and interventions,” Yusuf announced.
