A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), the Dr. Yusuf John-Suberu Foundation, has called on stakeholders to prioritise investments in Nigeria’s youth, describing it as crucial for unlocking the nation’s full potential and achieving sustainable greatness.
The founder of the foundation, Dr. Yusuf Suberu, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.
Suberu emphasised that a nation’s greatness was directly tied to its investment in its citizens, particularly the younger generation, adding that a country’s success was directly linked to its commitment to empowering its youth.
He stressed that unlocking the nation’s full potential began with education, saying that governments must recognize its importance and commit to supporting educational development.
According to him, empowering youth through human capital development was a win-win strategy, equipping them for success and contributing to a crime-free society.
“Drawing inspiration from progressive nations can help us invest in our young people, leading to a brighter future.
“Education is key to a society’s growth, and it’s essential for wealthy individuals, corporate organisations, and the government to collaborate in providing top-quality education and resources to empower Nigerian youth.
“By working together, these stakeholders can create a comprehensive support system that fosters a conducive learning environment.
“This collective effort will not only enhance education quality but also prepare Nigerian youth to contribute meaningfully to the country’s socio-economic development.
“Our foundation is committed to supporting the government’s efforts in providing education to Nigerian children and youths, ensuring every child has access to quality education and growth opportunities, regardless of their background or circumstances,”he said.
Suberu urged wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to collaborate with the government in providing top-notch education and additional resources to empower Nigerian youth.
He said the foundation was dedicated to supplementing the government’s efforts in providing education to Nigerian children and youths, ensuring every child had access to quality education and opportunities for growth, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Suberu also encouraged young people to think globally, embracing diversity and unity across cultures and nations.
He advised them to stay focused, work hard, and avoid distractions that could hinder greatness, cultivating a mindset that prioritised discipline, resilience, and determination.
