A number of former Super Eagles players, such as Elderson Echiejile and Emmanuel Emenike, paid their respects at the funeral of Philip Robin Enyeama, the father of former goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, in Akwa Ibom State’s Ika Local Government Area.
The University of Uyo mourns the loss of Philip Robin Enyeama, a former sports department staff member who played a pivotal role in guiding the football team to various tournaments, who passed away on February 22 at 92, following a brief illness.
The elaborate funeral arrangements for Philip Robin Enyeama began with the opening of the morning house on July 1 at 10:00 am at his Efen Ikot Okoro residence, followed by a lying-in-state ceremony on July 5 at 7:00 am at the same location, and concluded with his burial at St. Patrick’s Parish, Urua Inyang, Ika LGA, Akwa Ibom State.
Vincent Enyeama’s distinguished career as Nigeria’s goalkeeper spanned from 2002 to 2015, during which he accumulated an impressive 101 caps, solidifying his position as one of the nation’s most decorated players.
