Desirous of supporting vulnerable persons in the society, leading financial institution, Fidelity Bank Plc has donated food packs to residents of Ondo West Local Government Area, in Ondo state.
Through its Food Bank outreach, the bank collaborated with St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Oke Padi, Odojomu/Odosida, Ondo State in distributing the essential food items to over 800 individuals.
Speaking at the distribution event, the Divisional Head, Brand and Communications, Fidelity Bank Plc, Meksley Nwagboh, noted that, “The donation is an initiative under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative also known as the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP), created to reach out to vulnerable persons and reduce the effect of hunger and poverty in the society.
According to Nwagboh, “This initiative underscores the bank’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and community welfare. We have supported 80 communities across the country since the inception of this initiative in 2023 and we have worked with esteemed partners to identify the communities in need of these food packs. So today, this is happening in Ondo, just as it’s happening in other regions of the country. Essentially, this is going-on across the six geopolitical zones of the country and we aim to make a huge impact with this project”.
Some of the Beneficiaries who could not hide their excitement, Agbo Rita and Fisayo Ogundiya expressed their gratitude to the bank for the initiative, describing it as life-saving and a step towards cushioning the effect of hunger in the society.
The Fidelity Food Bank is a nationwide initiative under the bank’s Health & Social Welfare pillar, designed to support the vulnerable and contribute to the reduction of hunger in the society.
