The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has declared that the forthcoming electronic registration as members of the party will determine those who get political appointments and those eligible to contest on the platform.
The party’s National Chairman also said Nigerians willing to officially register as members of APC are expected to provide tbeir biometric data which must tally with the details captured in the National Identity Number (NIN).
Speaking at the opening session of the e-membership registration train-the-trainer workshop, Wednesday in Abuja, Ganduje said any member whose name appear on the digital register shall be deemed to be true and faithful members of the APC.
According to Ganduje, this process will not only drive the planning, decision-making and projection process but will serve as basis of reference for any member of our party seeking appointment at any level or desiring to contest an election.
“The APC and portal on which the prospective trainees from the Thirty-Six (36) States and FCT, Abuja are expected to use will soon be reactivated so that the existing and new members can go online to register and join our Party from any part of the world. Each person is expected to provide his or her biometric data which must tally with the details captured in the National Identity Number (NIN).
“May I therefore appeal to our Honourable Ministers who are basically stakeholders on this project to kindly provide us with technical assistance towards achieving these laudable objectives.
“For our trainees, I will also like to appeal to you to please ensure that you learn from this programme so that you go back to your respective states and impart same knowledge to those who will be engaged in this exercise. I must say this exercise is very important and dear to us, therefore we must strive to succeed.”
Ganduje, however, reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of APC to set new standards and benchmarks in the nation’s democratic sphere and ensure the sustenance and continuation of the APC government at all levels.
Speaking earlier, the project coordinator, Engr. Samuel Adedapo Adedoyin described the Members Registration Portal as a comprehensive digital solution designed to streamline and enhance the process of member registration, management, and engagement for organizations.
He said: “This platform addresses the inefficiencies and limitations of traditional paper-based or fragmented digital registration systems, providing a unified and user friendly interface for both members and administrators.”
