Popular activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has condemned the Kogi State House of Assembly over call for removal of EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede.
Adeyanju on Tuesday in a social media post said, “I express deep concern over the Kogi State House of Assembly’s recent resolution calling for the removal of EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede.
“Instead of focusing on the massive looting of the state’s treasury under Bello’s administration and probing him, the Assembly have joined in the dance of shame of defending fugitive Bello.
“The people of Kogi deserve answers, not theatrics. Yahaya Bello’s tenure was marred by corruption, mismanagement, and financial impropriety, resulting in dire economic straits for the state.
“The Assembly’s actions are a blatant disregard for justice and the welfare of the Kogi people. It’s time for citizens to reflect on the kind of leaders they elect. Leaders without moral and ethical grounding prioritize their interests over public service. I urge the people of Kogi to stop electing individuals who have no regard for the rule of law or public service.
“The EFCC’s mandate is to fight corruption, and they must be allowed to do their job without interference. Any attempt to shield corrupt individuals from justice undermines the Nigerian people’s fight against corruption. I stand with the people of Kogi in demanding transparency, accountability, and justice. Kogi deserves better, he said”.
