Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has given the approval for the development of a state-of-the-art Central Motor Park in Gusau, the state capital.
The Governor’s office released a statement on Wednesday, signed by Suleiman Bala Idris, the Governor’s spokesperson.
Governor Dauda, presided over an extraordinary meeting of the State Executive Council at the Government House in Gusau, where key decisions were made and crucial matters beneficial to the development and progress of Zamfara State were thoroughly discussed, on Tuesday.
According to him, the council approved the award of the contract for the construction of the Ultra-modern Central Motor Park to Fieldmark Construction Ltd, amounting to N4.9 billion
He said, “The construction of the park is a crucial component of the state’s Urban Renewal Program and will significantly enhance the state’s transport infrastructure and service delivery.”
“The project is to be jointly funded by the Ministry for Local Government and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, while the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure will supervise the execution of the project.
“The Ministry of Works has already designed and developed an in-house bill for the project and submitted it to the State Bureau of Public Procurement, which has provided no objections to the proposal.”
Idris emphasised that the upcoming Ultra-modern Central Motor Park will feature a range of amenities, including the construction of offices for government agencies and union offices, a fire station, guest lodges, and other essential facilities.
Idris also mentioned that the comprehensive project will additionally feature several other essential components, including the establishment of a clinic for medical services, a police station to ensure security, a warehouse for storage, a POS center for financial transactions, a mechanical workshop for vehicle repairs, and a car wash facility.
