The Committee of Youth on Mobilisation and Sensitisation (CYMS) has thrown its weight behind Mr Ayodele Olawande, newly nominated Minister of Youth Development by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This is contained in a statement by the CYMS Director-General, Chief Obinna Nwaka, on Friday in Abuja.
The committee boss praised Olawande’s wealth of experience in youth advocacy and community development.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday Oct. 23, approved the re-assignment of 10 ministers to new portfolios, discharged five and nominated seven new others for onward transmission to the Senate for confirmation.
Obinna described Olawande as an accessible leader, sound-minded and a team player.
He expressed confidence that under Olawande’s leadership, the Federal Ministry of Youth Development would introduce innovative programs, enhancing youth involvement in governance, education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
“The youth of Nigeria represent a powerful catalyst for change. With Olawande leading the way, we are hopeful that the ministry will roll out impactful initiatives that resonate with young Nigerians,”he said.
The CYMS boss urged stakeholders to support Olawande’s mission to foster an inclusive atmosphere for youth.
He called for collaboration with youth groups and open dialogue to integrate young people’s perspectives into national policymaking.
“As Olawande begins his tenure, CYMS anticipates a partnership focused on empowering young Nigerians, public enlightenment on federal government policies and programs, and helping them realise their full potential in nation-building,”he said.
“With Olawande at the helm, Nigeria’s youth can expect positive change,”he said.
