The Government of Bauchi State has reiterated its dedication to sanitizing the operations of all mining firms operating in the state.
This act is intended to increase the generation of revenue and ensure adherence to set parameters required.
Muhammad Maiwada Bello, the Bauchi State Commissioner of Natural Resources, disclosed this during an official visit to mining sites across several local governments of the state.
He stressed that the state government has resolved to implement stringent measures to curb illegal mining activities and enhance revenue streams.
Maidawa stressed, “We are introducing innovative approaches to tackle illegal mining operations and streamline activities, with the ultimate goal of enhancing our state’s internal revenue.”
He noted the necessity for every mining company to collaborate closely with the ministry, adhere to provided protocols, and operate within the framework of Community Development Agreements and CDAs for the mutual benefit of host communities and the state as a whole.
The commissioner also emphasized how crucial it is for miners to understand the terms of their mining permits, which cover the local, state, and federal governments, to guarantee smooth operations.
According to the reports, further that Maidawa Bello urged them to forge strong partnerships with local government chairpersons to address all the challenges that may arise from mining activities effectively, while engaging with community leaders during the visit.
