Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, Sunday commended the quality and level of work attained at the ongoing 5Star Hotel in Minna.
The Governor who was at the project site for inspection, commended the contractor for an impressive work.
He explained that the project was initiated by the Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu led administration, pointing out that his administration decided to complete the project based on the socio-economic value it would add to the State capital.
The farmer Governor further revealed that the initial project design has been modified by his administration for a better outcome.
He said the structure with about 200 rooms, is having 6 floors with a penthouse, instead of the initial 9, 4 elevators instead of the previous 8.
The farmer Governor said the plan is to link the 5Star Hotel with U.K. Bello Arts Theatre to serve as conference centre for the hotel.
He said the Vocational School around the vicinity will be relocated to the Technical College, Tungan Goro, adding that the entire hotel environment will be used to construct a recreational centre and amusement park as well as other tourists sites.
The farmer Governor also inspected the Youth Centre Minna, renovated by a new generational Bank where he directed the Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Usman Abubakar to take over the project for a comprehensive rehabilitation.
He then used the opportunity to visit the ICT centre, housing the Ministry of Communications Technology and Digital Economy, for sightseeing.
