Arewa Progressives For Good Governance (APGG) has disagreed with the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung over his alleged support of the proposed nationwide protest due to economic hardship.
The group said it was not true that some prominent personalities would allegedly, join the protest against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration.
The group, in a statement, told the former Minister that it’s not true personalities such as former and serving Senators, Arewa youth leaders and several others have agreed to join the planned protest.
Dalung in his social media platform, wrote that “the rights of Nigerians to protest cannot be taken by executive fiat…”
However, the group in a statement signed by the Chairman, Malam Ibrahim Musa Bichi, stated that “we understand the pains Nigerians are going through because of the current hardship caused by the withdrawal of Petroleum subsidy, but we can authoritatively say there will be light at the end of the dark tunnel.”
“Any Northerner calling for protest against Tinubu’s Administration over economic hardship is not fair .Our son, former President Muhammadu Buhari was President for 8 years..but our Northern brothers kept quiet.”
The Arewa Progressives For Good Governance reminded the former Minister, saying that “he who must come to equity must come with clean hands.”
The group alleged that the forner Minister had tried to contest an election after he was sacked as Minister, but could not sail through.
