The All Progressives Congress (APC) boycotted the local government election conducted across 105 wards in Bayelsa state on Saturday.
Thediscoverer gathered that the poll was also marred by anomalies in Sagbama as some hoodlums hijacked electoral materials meant for wards six, seven, 11, 13 and 14 in the area
Meanwhile there were evidence of voters apathy, voting materials and personnel of the Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission were said to have arrived late in Yenagoa, Sagbama, Ekeremor, Kolokuma/Opokuma, Ogbia, Nembe, Brass, and Southern Ijaw council areas.
At Kalamaoweiwari Unit Four, Ward Six, in Sampou community, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, Governor Douye Diri described the poll as peaceful after casting his vote along side with his wife, Gloria.
While Diri speaking with journalists, he lauded the BYSIEC for the proper handling of the council poll and expressed optimism that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, would win the election.
