The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of being callous and insensitive for politicizing the recent tragic stampedes in Oyo, Anambra, and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a press statement, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, expressed disappointment that the PDP would exploit these tragic incidents to launch a senseless attack against the APC-led administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Morka emphasized that the APC administration has demonstrated its commitment to Nigerians’ welfare through various initiatives, including investments in alternative energy sources, education loan funds, and subsidized transportation fares during the yuletide season.
He also criticized the PDP’s claim that the APC’s policies have ruptured a “once thriving economy,” pointing out that successive PDP administrations had operated a phantom economy characterized by corruption and distortions.
Instead, Morka argued that President Tinubu’s bold reforms have set the country on a path towards true prosperity and sustainability, with the economy rebounding steadily.
The APC has commended President Tinubu for calling off his scheduled activities to honor the victims of the stampedes and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
