I have been intrigued with the explosion of new AI aps being launched everyday.
It seems like there’s an AI app for everything: reports, papers, monitoring, evaluation, qualitative analysis, qualitative analysis, accounts, scientific research, creating animation, voice, images, video.
There’s an app for everything.
At first the argument was about whether or not automation would see the end of humanity as we know it.
Then there was this brouhaha about whether or not AI would take over all our jobs and render us unemployed.
Now that it looks like that’s not going to happen anytime soon, the argument has shifted to whether it’s ok to use AI to write documents.
Now this is where I step in. I know that there are lots of people who are better and more organized writers than me who see AI as an irritant.
These are often people who sneer down their horn rimmed lenses at those of us mere mortals who would dare to use an alien, artificial, contrived tool to execute an ancient art as distinguished and as noble as writing.
This is all ok. After all, every one has a right to their own convictions.
However, If I’m going to be honest, a million times a day, I bow in obeisance and DEEPLY thank AI and the people who invented it every day.
Nothing and I mean absolutely NOTHING else has 10Xed my productivity like AI.
I no longer have to gaze at a blinking cursor for ages against a blank screen and a blank mind before I write Press Releases, TORs, Reports, Evaluations, etc
AI tools have been a game changer for me.
AI has been my muse. It gets me off the starting blocks. Once it gives me a structure and idea, I can probably write the rest of the document. But AI gives me that vital push away from the shore.
Besides, let’s be honest and give ourselves some credit. You can’t use AI to write documents properly unless you are already a decent writer who can spot errors, fill in the blanks and humanize AI content by given it your own warmth. Colour and identity. If you rely solely on AI to write your documents, you will flop woefully.
As far as I am concerned, AI is bae.
What do you think?
How do you use AI in your work?
