The Nigerian Army has declared Haliru Buzu, a notorious arms supplier, wanted.
Buzu, allegedly to be behind the killing of 19 villagers in Farar Kasa.
He operates from his camp in Subbubu forest and resides in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara state.
The pronouncement was made by Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, during a briefing in Abuja.
Maj.-Gen. Buba disclosed that Buzu is not only involved in arms trafficking but also runs an illegal mining site in Zamfara and engages in cattle rustling, further exacerbating the security challenges in the region.
The declaration of Buzu as a wanted criminal underscores the commitment of the Defence Headquarters to apprehend individuals responsible for perpetrating violence and destabilizing the peace in Zamfara State.
It serves as a clear message that those involved in illegal activities will face the full wrath of the law, and efforts will be intensified to bring them to book.
The Defence Headquarters, in cooperation with other security agencies, pledges with members of the public to provide useful information that could lead to the arrest of Haliru Buzu.
