Seriously, British royalty should not interest any African. Not with all the atrocities that these colonial overlords did to Africa and the black race. But of course they do for two reasons:-
1. They represent a blighted empire that once ruined a quarter of the globe, especially Africa
2. We are all children of royals – The monarchy was the system that ran most of our socio-political affairs before our colonizers asked us to dump it and embrace their version of governance – democracy or its silly interpretation.
3. Like what they did with our various religions, they advised us to drop our culture, embrace theirs while they have kept theirs. Have you asked what ado about the so-called British royals?
Anyway, so I did not get to know until this morning that Meaghan and Harry were visiting motherland. By now, you all know that while I don’t give a rat’s behind about the British monarchy, I do adore Meaghan and Harry. They are my true royals. That young man broke tradition. He broke the back of racial discrimination in the Western hemisphere by, like his late mother (may God rest her sweet soul), deciding to side with truth and fairness.
Harry could have dated or married any girl on this earth – the power of the British monarchy would have made it happen. But having seen what a puppet they’d make of his love and real life, he chose a divorcee who identifies as BLACK, the best colour ever created.
Seeing that his bella would be disrespected by the shitsetem, he dropped his titles and all the perks that comes with it, except of course the innate ones, and moved to America with his bella because that is where his heart is.
The entire racist media establishment and their lackeys have made it a policy, wherever these lovebirds turn, to insult them, misrepresent them and vilify them. They only succeed inasmuch as we, in Nigeria, in Africa the black race allows them. Harry did not do us a favour by marrying our daughter (yes, she is our daughter not because she traced a certain percentage of her ancestry to Nigeria but for identifying as black when she could have identified herself as Asian or anything else). No, he just broke another taboo – that which vilifies divorcees and single parents – in that order.
So, if you are African and you pitch your tent with those that hate these two, obviously you need to have your deracinated head examined. These ones are our royals. This girl is our daughter, our sister and now by adaptation one of ours.
If a black-faced Asaju Tunde, born in a remote Ok-City would be welcomed as guest, visitor, resident and perhaps one day citizen of Canada; then why would I not be happy to see an influential, beautiful, regally Meaghan as my sister? Indeed, I would drop my agbada for her to walk on…just to spite those who spite her.
I hope they get the best treatment in Nigeria. We are known for our hospitality and our respect for royalty. It’s not always about your Naira. They are not here to solve your problems, Tinubu and your governors campaigned to do that and if they fail, hold them responsible not Meaghan and Harry. So, stop taking sides with those who would not hesitate to kill you for your looks, your accent and your presence. That is what their big media has pumped into your head. They want you to hate your own and jump on their own.
We must welcome these ones as one of us and see their trajectory as the trajectory of ambassadors of change, of friendship, of the power of love and the knife on the jugular of discrimination. Welcome Meaghan and Harry, Welcome home to Nigeria and yes, please do consider our country yours. Please come more and yes, bring the royal prince and princesses too, we adopt them, we love them just as we love you.
And when you go back, go back with fond memories or motherland. Just remember what we say here – Naija no dey carry last. May the force always be with you and yours. Thanks for coming!
