Nollywood actor, Azubuike Egwu, popular known as Zubby Michael has finally mourned his colleague, Junior Pope.
This comes after the actor was criticised on social media by many Nigerians for not mourning Junior Pope.
To pay his last respects, Zubby took to his Instagram account and shared Junior Pope’s picture with the caption, “It’s difficult to say RIP Nwanne.”
Junior Pope died in a boat accident with three others while returning from a movie set in Delta State.
The news of his death was shared on Wednesday, April 10, by filmmaker, Samuel Olatunji.
Reacting to Zubby’s post, some Nigerians have questioned his delay in mourning the late actor while others commended him for doing it on his own time..
An Instagram user known as eledani007, wrote, “Bros, why did it take you this long to mourn a brother?”
Olufemijoe, wrote “This is fake love, you have been showing up on IG flaunting wealth and lifestyle ever since the passing of Mr. JnrPope. Now, after two weeks, you are saying rubbi*h this is pure fake love, we can’t be deceived.”
Another user, casfon, wrote, “What was your reason why you didn’t mourn him since?”
Commending Zubby for mourning Junior Pope despite social media attack, an Instagram user, identified as _celebrity_lawyer, wrote, ‘Man is real. He doesn’t rush to kiss goodbye. Man indeed reserved the last for the best. We love and respect you.”
A user wrote, “I like the fact that you did this at your own time, not for clout or social media pressure/relevance.”
Another user, known as more4love, wrote, “Well done Zubby as it should, haters please back off, people mourn differently.”
mr_sacys, wrote, “Na man you be.”
