Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured residents that their taxes will be invested in meaningful projects that promote economic growth and improve the quality of life.
Speaking during the commissioning of the second phase of upgraded and rehabilitated roads in Eti-Osa Local Government Area, Sanwo-Olu emphasized his administration’s commitment to transforming Lagos into a globally competitive city.
The governor highlighted the critical role of transportation infrastructure in driving economic prosperity. “Transportation infrastructure is the backbone of any thriving economy.
“In Lagos State, we recognize that every aspect of our social and economic life depends on an efficient, reliable, and sustainable transportation network,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu reiterated his administration’s focus on the THEMES+ Agenda, which prioritizes transportation and traffic management as essential pillars. He acknowledged the challenges of traffic congestion and flooding as significant obstacles to productivity and the well-being of Lagosians, noting that his administration has made strides to address these issues.
“When we envisioned the Greater Lagos dream, we set out to build a state that is safe, clean, and prosperous—a place where opportunities abound, and the quality of life continues to improve for all residents,” Sanwo-Olu said.
The newly commissioned road project in Eti-Osa is part of efforts to reduce travel time, enhance mobility, and boost economic activities in the area. Sanwo-Olu added that such infrastructural investments are designed to attract more opportunities to Lagos and elevate its status as a global economic hub.
The governor reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring that every naira contributed by taxpayers is directed toward initiatives that yield tangible benefits for the people.
