Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved strategic appointments across various government positions, reinforcing the administration’s staunch commitment to effective governance and targeted development.
The Governor approved the appointment of former Federal House of Representatives Member, Hon. AbdulKadir Mamman Nasir as the new Chief of Staff (COS). Nasir bagged a postgraduate diploma from Bayero University, Kano.
He was until his new appointment, the Managing Director, Katsina State Irrigation Development Authority.
He brings extensive administrative experience in both political offices and corporate organizations to the pivotal role of coordinating governmental operations and implementing the governor’s vision for the state. Nasir will replace former Chief of Staff Hon. Jabiru Abdullahi Tsauri, who has been appointed as the National Coordinator of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).
Similarly, Alhaji Malik Anas has been nominated as Honourable Commissioner, subject to the State House of Assembly confirmation. Alhaji Anas holds a Masters in Business Administration from Bayero University, Kano. He is equally a one-time Katsina State Accountant General and member of different professional bodies, including Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Financial Reporting of Nigeria, among others. Anas, until his new appointment was the Special Adviser on Banking and Finance to the Governor of Katsina State. He brings professional expertise into the state’s executive leadership.
The Governor also approved the appointment of Alhaji Mustapha Bala Batsari as Special Adviser on Market Development. Bala holds Advanced Diploma in Public Administration from Kano State Polytechnic. He was until his recent appointment the Board Chairman of the State Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA).
On the other hand, Alhaji Nasiru Ahmed has been appointed as Special Adviser on Rural and Social Development. He bagged B.Sc Computer Science from Alnahada University, Maradi, Niger. Until his recent appointment, Nasir was the Special Assistant on Political Matters, Funtua Zone, bringing specialized knowledge and insights to support key governmental initiatives.
Furthermore, the Governor approved the appointment of Hajiya Bilikisu Suleiman as a Special Adviser on Banking and Finance. This represents the administration’s dedication to inclusive governance and diverse professional representation. Bilikisu was the immediate Executive Secretary of Katsina State Development Management Board until her new appointment.
Hon. Abubakar Ahmad Tsanni has also been appointed as Special Adviser on Youth Development He was formerly Special Adviser to the Governor on Sports and Social Development. Tsanni has MSc in Conflict, Peace and Strategic Studies from Kaduna State University, Kaduna.
Dr. Mustapha Shehu will serve as Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Development Management Board (KSDMB). Shehu who bagged PhD in Education Innovation Technology from Universidad De Sonora, Mexico will bring to this role his wealth of experience as the State Project Coordinator, Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), a World Bank supported programme, Dr. Shehu’s foreign education and professional certifications are expected to drive developmental interventions and economic planning for the state.
Engr. Aminu Barau Mairuwa, appointed as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on the newly established Community Development Programme (CDP), a serial volunteer supporting the mandate of less privilege, health and education will bring his expertise to enhance grassroots developmental strategies and community engagement. He has Postgraduate Diploma in Geographical Information System and a hopeful MSc in the same course from Federal University, Dutsinma. Until his appointment, he was the General Manager, Katsina State Housing Authority.
In the same vein, Dr. Aliyu Rabi’u Kurfi will take over the Katsina State Housing Authority as General Manager, bringing his depth of professional insights in administrative, business and politics to improve housing and urban development in the state. Until his appointment, Kurfi was the Executive Director, History and Culture Bureau, Katsina State. Kurfi bagged LL.B from National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and BA from Bayero University, Kano.
In addition, Dr. Kabir Ali Masanawa has been appointed Executive Director of the Katsina State History and Culture Bureau. Dr. Ali until his recent appointment was an Executive Director Katsina State Development Management Board. He has worked in various capacities and gained membership of relevant professional bodies as a tourist. Ali bagged PhD in Big Data Analysis (Analytics on Tourism and Hospitality), Dubai.
And, Zuwaira ibrahim Boyi replaces Dr Kabir Masanawa at the Katsina State Development Management Board, KTDMB as the Executi:e Director Investment and Tourism.
A 2007 graduate of Economics from Bayero University Kano, Zuwaira held several positions at the Nigeria High Commission in London. She is an accomplished marketing professional with a strong experience background in both private and
public organisational sectors.
Alhaji Abdullahi Abubakar Gagare is nominated as Chairman of the Katsina State Fiscal Responsibility Commission, subject to State House of Assembly confirmation. Gagare was served as Permanent Secretary in Katsina State Government and he has exceptional leadership with administrative and financial background. He is a chartered accountant of Nigera and is expected to champion financial transparency and accountability.
Governor Radda charged the newly appointed assemblage of professionals to be dedicated to their line of duty and ensure the administration’s Building Your Future agenda is delivered to the good people of Katsina State.
