The Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jeret Tenebe, has dismissed the controversy surrounding a viral video of Governor Monday Okpebholo struggling to articulate figures during the presentation of the 2025 appropriation bill to the State House of Assembly.
In a video statement addressing the backlash, Tenebe defended the governor, asserting that the issue had been blown out of proportion. He argued that Governor Okpebholo’s unease with figures stems from his lack of familiarity with financial terminologies, unlike certain political opponents he accused of being skilled in misappropriating billions.
“The governor is not accustomed to such figures, unlike those who have mastered the art of stealing from public funds,” Tenebe remarked, in what appeared to be a veiled jab at critics of the administration.
