House of Representatives, has commended the Niger State Governor, Umar Bago, over his effort, particularly in the agricultural sector.
The commendation followed a brief remark by the member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Babajimi Benson, via matters of personal explanation.
Granted the floor to speak, Benson said, “Governor Bago has shown uncommon passion in the agricultural revolution, infrastructural development and religious tolerance.
“A military General from Cameroon who schooled in Harvard called me recently and he was full of praises for Gov Bago. He did not know the Governor from anywhere.”
In his contribution, a lawmaker from Niger State, Saidu Abdullahi, agreed with Benson, saying, “It is a bright day for Niger State. I am privileged to know what he is doing to uplift the status of Niger.”
According to Abdullahi, “Gov Bago has committed 250,000 hectares of land to sugarcane cultivation, adding that “In addition to other initiatives, Niger State has what it takes to feed the entire nation.
He noted that there is literally no opposition in Niger State because all parties are treated the same way by the governor.
“He gave us cars as lawmakers irrespective of party affiliation,” he added.
