Members of the Nigerian Law School Class of 1984 from across the country have converged on Yankari Game Reserve in Bauchi State to celebrate their 40th anniversary and reunion.
The event drew a number of the attendees including notable alumni such as former Katsina State Governor, Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema.
President of the Nigerian Union, Mr. Mela Audu Nunghe, expressed gratitude to Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdukadir Mohammed for hosting the event and commended the members for their impressive turnout.
He noted that the gathering also served as a platform to discuss critical issues affecting Nigeria’s judiciary and make positive recommendations with a view to strengthening the judicial institution.
In his remarks, the former Governor of Katsina state, Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema emphasized the need for collective responsibility in driving Nigeria’s growth and development.
He urged the judiciary and young lawyers to remain steadfast and committed to justice in the face of challenges.
The Chairman Organizing Committee and Secretary to the Bauchi State Government (SSG), Barrister Ibrahim Mohammed Kashim, also lauded Governor Bala Mohammed for approving the event.
He highlighted that hosting such a prestigious gathering would further promote Bauchi State as a prime destination for tourism and events.
The reunion underscores the enduring bond among members of the Class of ’84 and their shared commitment to the progress of the legal profession and Nigeria. END
