President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of three new directors-general to lead major federal agencies, alongside a special adviser on media and public communications.
The appointments aim to strengthen leadership in sports, tourism, and procurement, as well as streamline media relations at the State House.
The appointments, announced in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, include:
1. Olawale Olopade – Appointed as Director-General of the National Sports Commission. Olopade is an experienced sports administrator who previously served as Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports and chaired the Local Organizing Committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.
2. Dr. Abisoye Fagade – Named Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. Fagade is a seasoned marketing communications expert and founder of Sodium Brand Solutions, bringing strategic insight to Nigeria’s tourism sector.
3. Dr. Adebowale Adedokun – Now the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP). Adedokun has a background in research, training, and strategic planning, previously holding a directorial position at the BPP.
4. Daniel Bwala – Appointed Special Adviser on Public Communications and Media at the State House. Bwala, a lawyer and respected public affairs analyst, is set to enhance the administration’s media communications.
President Tinubu has tasked the new appointees with performing their duties with dedication, patriotism, and a commitment to excellence, as they support the administration’s goals across sports, tourism, procurement, and media communications.
