I woke up with this muse, and I deemed it necessary to share my thoughts.
It has become imperative to take light of every daunting issue as it stands. The prevalence calls for great concern.
The extreme impoverishment, dearth of resources, violence, and hardship. It is almost impossible to walk on the street without experiencing an episode that saddens one.
Yet, I say, take light!
Take light is an expression used to downplay a serious situation. This I consider as an antidote that can help ameliorate the hard times. Laughter seems to have become an oddity. People move about with scowls on their faces.
The typical home seems to be a duel, where couples argue over money and shortfalls. Even children are not spared from the arguments and rage.
Take light!
Recession is a global phenomenon. It is like rain, it drenches everywhere. What can be done to reduce the impact?
Identify leakages and mend it. Money is currency, flowing. If there are leakages, there is a waste. Address leakages like obsession for aso ebi. Some people have in their wardrobes more than enough apparel to last them in their lifetime. Stop buying unnecessary stuff.
Prioritise and strategise, and little drops accrue to much. Learn to distinguish between needs and wants. We can not have all we want, but our needs can be met.
Take Light!
No one needs a large office space to do business now. Spacious living rooms could be converted to offices and shops. Working from home has taken over in other climes. Amazon, Shein, Temu, Konga, and other online businesses are taking over commerce. Can you imagine how much they save on rent?
Stop unhealthy rivalry and competition. Your child can go to school in your neighbourhood. Why travel so far to get one and pay for a school bus?
Take Light!
The space we have in our homes is far too indulgent. People who live in diaspora can tell. Convert the duplexes to flats and rent out. Think outside the box.
Master the art of saving. Yes, save now. Warren Buffet said ” Do not save what is left after spending , but spend what is left after saving.” Reflect on that, and you will realise you have been doing the reverse for so long. Change your perspective and see the positive outcome.
Expand your safety net, keep improving, and honing your skills. Commercialise your gift of speaking , be a compere at events. A good cook can start selling food to busy moms. Money is earned and satisfaction derived.
Learn to laugh more, laugh loud, and bond with your spouse and kids. Intensify efforts in making yourself happy. Read books to escape, watch movies, and take time to exhale. Life is an echo. Giving positive vibes enables us to receive the same.
Life is not rocket science, and it is not cast in stone. Simplify it!
Remember, troubles do not LAST.
Good morning, peeps.
