Few days after the injury of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Barcelona have reached an agreement with Wojciech Szczesny to join the Blaugrana giants.
According to sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Szczesny is expected to replace Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, who suffered a long-term injury against the Yellow Submarine, Villarreal on Sunday – a tie that ended 5-1 in favour of Hansi Flick’s side.
The 34-year-old will put pen to paper on a one-year deal after a successful medical test.
Szczesny had earlier on August 27 announced his retirement from professional football – some days after he had a mutual agreement with the Italian outfit, Juventus to terminate his contract.
The Blaugrana were also linked with other goalkeepers including Loris Karius, Keylor Navas, and Claudio Bravo, who was a former shot-stopper of the club and has also called it quit from the round leather game.
