A frustrated resident of Bodija community in Ibadan, @TheCakeChancery on Twitter, has taken to social media to express her disappointment and anger over the theft of a transformer and cables in her neighborhood.
The community has been left without electricity for two months, and the resident is demanding a refund of her contribution to replace the stolen cables.
In a series of tweets, she narrated how thieves initially stole cables from the transformer, and then returned to steal the entire transformer itself. The community had just started contributing money to replace the stolen cables when the transformer was stolen. She questioned the detention of the community’s security guard, who was accused of being involved in the initial theft of cables, wondering if he would be released now that the transformer had been stolen while he was still in custody.
