A shocking trial is underway in Avignon, France, where a 71-year-old retiree, Dominique P., and 50 other men are accused of orchestrating the r@pe of his unconscious wife over a decade.
The victim, now in her 70s, was allegedly drugged and abused by dozens of men recruited online by her husband.
The case, which has sent shockwaves through the nation, involves a staggering 92 instances of r@pe by 72 men, with 51 identified and charged. The abuses began in 2011 and continued until 2020, when Dominique P. was caught filming under women’s skirts at a shopping center. A subsequent investigation uncovered thousands of disturbing images and videos on his computer.
Dominique P. admitted to drugging his wife with powerful tranquillizers to facilitate the r@pes, which he claimed were consensual fantasy play. However, the prosecution argues that the men knew the victim was unconscious and unaware of the abuse.
The trial, expected to be emotionally grueling for the victim, will determine the extent of the participants’ knowledge and understanding of the situation. Dominique P., described as a manipulative patriarch with a perverse personality, faces additional charges for a 1991 r@pe and murder and a 1999 attempted r@pe.
The victim, who has chosen to face her attackers in open court, will relive the traumatic experiences she endured for the first time. Her lawyer praised her determination, saying, “She is completely determined to face them and her husband, with whom she lived for 50 years but whom she knew nothing about.”
