Founder of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Pastor Paul Enenche, has been trending on various social media handles across Nigeria.
This is coming after Thediscovererng.com reported that the cleric knocked one of his church members, who is identified as Ayim Veronica Nnenna, on Sunday.
The incident which occurred while the church member who has now been identified as a police officer was sharing testimony during Sunday service after graduating as the first University-graduate in her family.
While sharing her testimony, Veronica was asked by the cleric of what categories of Degree did she graduated with, she answered by saying she graduated with BSc in Law.
The reply did not go well with the cleric who was expecting her to say LLB instead of BSc.
While reacting to her answer the cleric publicly announced that she was sharing a fake testimony.
This however, has generated different views from social media users across all platforms.
Adetayo Opeyemi who was at the church service, while reacting to the incident said, “I woke up to numerous tag here to confirm that the woman who gave ‘false testimony’ in church yesterday actually graduated with a law degree from NOUN. The document obviously showed LLB and not Bsc as she claimed. I still do not see reasons to blame the Senior pastor. It will be a serious dent on the image of the church as people will refer to the church a fake miracle center if it was allowed to scale. The only person I blame is the pastor who interviewed her and cleared her to come to the alter. He did not do due deligence and should be severely sanctioned for causing the church so much embarrassment. End of story.”
Phrank Shaibu via Facebook said,”That lady possibly wasn’t a liar but a product of our system! Her grammar was incurably bad. The Snr.Pastor judged her by his own standard. There are graduates from regular universities (not the Open University) whose grammar can wake the dead. She called it Bsc. Law…she simply didn’t know! The Snr. Pastor too, didn’t know that our educational system has deteriorated to this level. Nigeria happened to both of them.”
Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta via his Facebook handle while defending Veronica said,”Pastor Paul Eneche’s action was based on impulse. He wasn’t led by ANY spirits to shut that lady up. I can’t believe he allowed his emotions get hold of him and lured him to act in such manner.
Now it has been revealed that the poor lady was telling the truth. He has to apologize to her publicly for bringing such humiliation to her in front of over 50 thousand worshipers. If the Pastor was been logical, he would have put into consideration that for someone to start an LLB program since 2014 and wasn’t able to graduate until this year (10 years apart), she could be close to not knowing the difference between an LLB program and a B.Sc.
Putting her health challenges aside, she definitely do not know her ways around books. She doesn’t deserved to be crucified on the “Alter of God”. The Pastor only put to her that “God” wasn’t the one responsible for her testimony. Or perhaps, “the God of Dunamis” wasn’t responsible for her breakthrough.
The lady should take her apology to redeem her already staggering self esteem, and run far away from that congregation as far as possible. She doesn’t belong there and she shouldn’t try to fit in. I’m certain if it was her intentions of donating some billions to the church she tried to make known, she wouldn’t have been ‘disgraced or ridiculed’ even with her unpolished English. Same reason we allow stollen monies into the church everyday and no Pastor has ever thought of addressing that aspect.
If fact, the Politicians most of them preaches against and alleged being money launderers or enemies of the people by stealing public funds, goes to church every Sunday with tithes, offering, and seeds. These monies always get accepted, and the giver treated as VIP. Yes, we have VIPs in churches. This is not to mention the Abuja classic hook-up babes that earns in dollars and pay tithes in dollars. Well, that’s not the bone of contention here.
Christ didn’t teach us this way. Pastors should stop acting “God” and members should stop idolizing Pastors. God should always be allowed to take His proper place in every matters.
I wish poor Ayim Veronica Nnenna a speedy recovery from this mental suffocating and ego reducer attack. The body of Christ wasn’t responsible, but a supposed “Man of God” who acted on impulse.
QED.”
