The BudgIT Foundation Tracka, Gombe State Officer, Barrister Martha Daniel, has called on the Federal Government to prioritise the construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of all roads leading into Gombe State.
She also urged the State Government to focus on building connecting roads in Kagarawal Community of Gombe.
Martha made these remarks as part of the Eyes on the Road Project, which aims to improve participatory governance in road construction and super highway projects across Nigeria.
In a press release issued to our correspondent, she explained that the project utilises open government principles to engage citizens and stakeholder groups with elected officials, contractors, and agencies, ensuring accountability and quality service delivery.
Specifically, Tracka identified several roads in Gombe State that require urgent government attention, including the Gombe to Bauchi, Gombe to Biu, Gombe to Lafiya Lamurde and Cham, Gombe to Bajoga, Gombe to Dukku, Gombe to Darazo, and Gombe to Galda roads.
“We urge the Federal Government to prioritise the construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of these critical roads leading into Gombe State.
“Additionally, we call on the State Government to focus on building connecting roads in Kagarawal Community of Gombe LGA, which will greatly improve the livelihoods of our people.”, she stated.
The Eyes on the Road Project, implemented through Tracka, aims to promote transparency and accountability in road construction projects, ensuring that citizens’ voices are heard and their needs are met.
