A Nigerian barrister has stepped forward to offer free legal representation to social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, in his ongoing legal dispute with Pastor Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, the founder of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry.
The activist has been a vocal critic of Pastor Fufeyin’s “miracle products,” which the pastor claims can cure various forms of suffering. Verydarkman has questioned the efficacy of these products, particularly in a country where poverty and hardship are rampant. This public critique led Pastor Fufeyin to file a N1 billion lawsuit against the activist.
In response to the lawsuit, the Nigerian barrister, whose name has not been disclosed, called on Pastor Fufeyin to reveal the ingredients of his so-called miracle products. “Pastor Jeremiah must tell us the ingredients of his miracle products that cure sufferings, yet there is massive suffering and poverty in the land,” the barrister stated, emphasized the contradiction between the pastor’s claims and the harsh realities faced by many Nigerians.
The barrister also issued a call to other civil defense lawyers to join the cause and offer their services in defense of Verydarkman. The legal community is being urged to stand together in support of the activist, who has positioned himself as a defender of the public interest by challenging the legitimacy of the pastor’s claims.
