In a bold move to maintain environmental order and sanitation, the Lagos State government has demolished an unauthorized shrine constructed near main road in the Iyana Ipaja area.
The shrine, located at Moshalasi Bus Stop, Ile Epo, was removed by a joint team from the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency and the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps.

Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, explained that the government had served multiple stop-work notices, but personnel were met with physical assaults, prompting the removal.
Wahab issued a stern warning to the public, stating, “The Lagos State government will not tolerate environmental nuisances on state parks and gardens. Offenders will face prosecution.”
