The Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State, has apprehended 32 persons for breaking into shops and looting during the hunger protest to end bad governance in the state.
SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, NSCDC’s Spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
Abdullahi noted that the arrests were made by personnel from the Fagge Divisional Office of the NSCDC at Sabon Gari, Bata, France Road, and Murtala Mohammed Way.
According to him, the suspects were found with stolen goods worth thousands of Naira, which have since been recovered by the authorities.
The statement also stated that operatives of the NSCDC, with the assistance of good Samaritans, seized several items alleged to have been stolen by hoodlums during the protest at the State and Iyaka Roads in the Gyadi Gyadi area of Kano.
SC Abdullahi added that investigation into the case has commenced and that legal actions will be taken at the completion of the investigation.
